Love conquers all

 

 

 

I love this sentiment.  I truly believe that love does conquer all.  I've had enough trials and tribulations the last 3 years to last a life time.  I would have never made them through without the love from my amazing husband.  That man has been my rock but can still cry because of my pain. 

 

Enough of the mushy stuff!  This is a beautiful image from Sandra Caldwell at Babycakes Doodle This&That called Love Conquers All.  Sandra is giving away four free digis (wow!) for the challenge at Your ScrapbookPlace blog for the April contest.  I think I got in my card just in the nick of time.  There are some great prizes available for some lucky winners!!!

Hey, it's been a while!

Well hello there crafty people!  It's been a while, hasn't it?  I'm finally back in the creating mood after four month of letting life get in the way.  Instead of being stressed and nervous about issues that are out of my control, I decided to do a bit of card making to get those relaxing hormones working. 

This cute guy is for a Cinco De Mayo challenge over at ScrapbookPlace's challenge blog.  Plus, to help get the creative flow going, it's a sketch challenge.  My favorite!!!

I didn't realize how dark the bottom came out.  I had to take the pic using my iPhone because I'm fresh out of batteries for my camera.  You cant's see the glitter trim of the sombreros or the little glitter pom poms on the sombrero on the cactus.

It's a "sketchy" Thanksgiving!

We're having a "sketchy" time at ScrapbookPlace Challenges blog from October 15 - October 31.  I decided to make my card using Thanksgiving theme.  I choose to keep my card simple, with minimal embellishments.  I tried something new on this card and stamped my image on kraft paper, then colored with Copics.  I love the way it turned out!

Here's the sketch that was given to use.  I rotated the sketch but all the elements are there!

Have a Devilishly Happy Halloween

Oh my goodness, but your sunglasses on because this card might blind you from all of the sparkle, glitter and bling!!!  I almost fainted when I saw Hambo's Hoedown challenge this week - SPARKLE!!!!  When I saw the suggested image we use - Bailey Devil - I knew exactly what I wanted to do, just not sure if it would look like I wanted. 

I wanted Bailey Devil to look like there were flames and fire behind him.  I can't draw or cut well so I thought, "What about that Goo Punch by Martha Stewart, but turned the other way?"  It worked out perfectly!  What you think?  I think the only thing that isn't sparkly, glittery or blingy is the sentiment at the top.

Merry Christmas..... it's getting near.....

Yep, Christmas is coming.  As of today it's around 70+ days away.  I need to get my butt in gear and get my Christmas items made.

I love this cute image from Squigglefly and just knew I had to use it to put me in the right mood to start.  This is "Unconventional Christmas Tree" by artist Mark Hicks.  You can find it here at the Squigglefly store. 

This is for my entry in Squigglefly's challenge - SFC3912 - Use Teal, Pink and White.  I love those colors together and thought that coloring the elves pink and teal would be ideal for this image!  Everything on my card is pink, teal and white except for Old St. Nick at the top of the tree.  I just could not bring myself to color him anything but his traditional red.  I really love the way this card came out.  I'm usually my own worst critic.  But the colors and the embellishments, and not to mention the white glitter cardstock background, just make it look cohesive.  You may not be able to see it well in the picture, but the rims of the hats and the trim of the outfits have glitter dusted Liquid Applique and the belt buckles have bling.

Pumpkins

Nothing says fall and Thanksgiving more than pumpkins.  I personally do not like to eat pumpkin but to see them used as decorations is beautiful because of their colors.  Let's not forget you can also make them scary for Halloween.   

This is a card for Scrapbook Place Challenges blog for October.  The theme for October is Pumpkin.  There will be two challenges posted per month. A Theme Challenge on the 1st and a Sketch Theme Challenge on the 15th.

Our October Theme Challenge will be to use PUMPKINS on your cards, layouts and altered art. Whether spooky, cute, plain or glitzed up we want to see them.

This is a "clean and simple" card for me.  No blingy embellishments because I wanted the pumpkin background paper and the pumpkin digi to be the focus of the card since the them is pumpkins.  But, I did spray the whole card with Gold Shimmer Spritz.  I couldn't help myself.  I think I have a shiny, bling addiction.
