Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go right for you?

I needed to work on a DT project today. To start out with, I was just not able to focus on anything. That should have threw up a big ole red flag. So, I started coloring. Even bigger mistake. Everything looked horrible. I even tried to focus somewhere else by watching a little TV and then go back at it. WRONG!!!

Finally I took a cop out because I was getting really frustrated. I outlined the animal instead of full color. But I actually likes the way it turned out.

I guess the moral of the story is to never give up, no matter how many times you have to start over.

The pic of my chaos is below. I ended up using the very first image at the top. I worked from the bottom up.

Have a creative day!
You pay one small price, download it and can use it over and over and over and over...... You can size it small or big, add another digi to it to make a scene. The possibilities are almost endless.

I have a pretty good amount of digi stamps from different sources. I keep them on a thumb drive separated into folders by website. I have to go thru every folder to see what I have when I need an image. I thought that there has to be something better.

This is what I came up with. It works great for me. I opened up a Word document and imported all of the digis from one folder. I then resized them to fit 3 or 4 wide on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I titled each set by website. I then printed them and put them in plastic sheets and into a three-ring binder.
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had a great paper pack from Bazzill called Believe. It included patterned paper and Bazzill cardstock. <span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;">Here is what I came up with using the entire pack of paper. I think it had 12 12x12 patterned papers and 10 12x12 cardstock papers.
Maybe you just want to sit down and take a 5 minute breather with your crafty stuff? This is what I do.

My parents cooked a big lunch and we had some family and close friends come by to share it with us. It was a nice time with the kids acting good and playing nicely and the adults talking at the dinner table.

After the family leaves, it's time for cleanup. After that, I'm exhausted. But I came in my room and sat at my craft desk. I really didn't want to start anything new. So I straightened up a few things. I looked over at my scraps box and decided to stamp out a few sentiments. So that's what I did. Didn't take any time at all but I felt like I accomplished something.

I normally put them in some little baggies and label them as to what stamp set they came from and what color ink I used. My memory isn't as good as it used to be. But I decided that I would store them a little different now to be able to see them better. I got some trading card pages and put one color for each page. Then separated the sayings and labeled them on the back.

Then I put them in my handy - dandy binder.

So you see you don't need oodles of time to get things accomplished. A little something here and there adds up before you know it.

Go do something creative!
But we are still in July with the hottest month to come!
<span style="color: red; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Here is my calendar for July and August.
<span style="color: red; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I was able to use some old paper and embellishments here. Love the way it turned out. Just a little glitter from the cardstock under the calendar but not too flashy, in my opinion.
Christmas in July is here and time to get started on those handmade cards and Christmas gifts/projects.
<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here is one project I finished. They are "non-traditional" Christmas cards with pinks, reds and greens.

<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I'm submitting this card into two challenges. extend over the edge of your card." My Santa's head extends past the edge of the card. That very cute image is "Unconventional Christmas Tree" by Mark Hicks for Squigglefly.
I really enjoyed making them this year. I guess I was looking at them of more of "therapy" than something "I had" to do.

This set was so much fun to make. It used minimal paper and lots of different embellies. Plus, I used some older paper! That's always a plus.

These sets are also two pages each just like the others. This is my last set of two. I made 9 12-month calendars. That is 216 6x6 pages. That's the most I have ever made!

So here we go. I'm going to do two months in each post.
I just took pics of the first pages on this set. All the months are designed the same - background paper with three coordinating paper strips and embellies around the side of the month.
I used up some old embellies that I've had for ages. This will complete seven of my nine sets of calendars to make. Each month on each calendar has two pages per month. So far, I have made 168 6x6 pages! <span style="color: black; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Both calendars have a straight edge and 2014 has a ribbon border. Both are blinged (minimally) with pearls. 2011 has three stamped/colored embellies while 2014 has one stamped embellie and one large leaf. I think the 2011 is just too busy.
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">These both have a straight edge with a border - 2011 has a sticker and 2014 has ribbon. 2011 has stickers and stamped images with bling and 2014 has stamped image and pearl embellies. <span style="color: #073763; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I really liked the 2011 version so I didn't change much. I used the same paper, both have straight edges with a border, minimal bling, and a large image/embellie. I forgot that I don't have Teacher Anya anymore. I really wanted to use her on the 2014 calendar also, but I think the large fabric sticker works just as well. My one word for both of these is CLEAN.
That gave me an idea to make a set of calendars (two really) that are similar to a set of calendars that I made in 2011. That can only mean the heat will be extreme in the near future. But I am enjoying it while it's here!
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Speaking of hot weather, here are the really summer months for my generic calendar set.
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">July, August and September are up next. July's pages are attempt #2 at the month. The first set I did, I just hated and tore them up! I get so frustrated sometimes! Love the way this attempt turned out. In August's pages, I used the DIY enamel dots I made at the beginning of June. Came together perfectly!
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I had wanted to create a pennant banner for one of the months and it looks perfect with August! It was a little tricky. And, it was my first time using my Copics in a while. I had to print out two sheets of images because of my shaking hands.
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Next post will be October and November. On to make a Throwback calendar. It will look like a calendar I made a few years ago. Should be easy enough.
