Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Everyone, meet GOAT!  He is the latest and greatest image from Hambo.  The Hoedown this week - Hoedown #63 - Using Goat and one of the sentiments, create a project that uses something you have recycled!

All of the items I've used to make this card (and the alternate cards at the bottom) are from my scrap stash that I've had for a long time, some bit of scraps or something recycled.  The newspaper was sent to me by a friend for my vintage paper collection.  Thanks Mary K!  And I thought it would work great here, as I know goats eat paper.

I'd like to give a little creative shout out to Carolyn C.  I was inspired by her card for this challenge with her goat eating some of her hay paper that I had to do sorta the same thing.  I don't know where she comes up with her ideas.

No need for a materials list on this one; except to let you know what Copics I used:  B00 B32 B34 B41 B45 E30 E31 E41 E43 E47 W1.

I've been trying to use my stash this year instead of buying.  I've been doing ok with that.  I have bought a couple of 6x6 paper pads recently but that's it!  I've been using my stash and I'm so proud!!!

Thanks for checking out GOAT and try and play at Hambo when you can.  Know why you should?  You get a free digi image when you play.  That's enough incentive for me (plus they are really adorable!)

Oh wait, here's the other cards, that will be going to the troops!

Going green is "Toad-ally" perfect!

Going green is this month's theme at ScrapbookPlace Challenges is Going Green!  April's Challenge is a good one for you and Mother Earth. In celebration of Earth Day, April 22, we are challenging you to "go green" with your project. Make a card, layout or altered art, but remember to reuse, recycle or upcycle in the crafting of your creation. When you link your entry, make sure to mention how you saved a tree.  Thanks Pat for your great challenges.

My card uses nothing but scraps.  I saved a tree by not using any new supplies but thes bits and pieces already in my stash.  I used some shimmer for the rays of sun and to highlight the circles to resemble shimmery clouds.  Toads having so much fun flying his kite, he doesn't even see lunch flying around his mushroom!

By the way, the cutie on the mushroom flying his kite is from Doodle Dragon Studios.  Love, love Dustin Pike's work!

Tea for two for Mother's Day

What do you do special for Mother's Day?  Does your kids spoil you?  Does hubby send you flowers?  My sister and I (and our families) always get together and either take her out to eat or have a BBQ (or crawfish boil.)  She enjoys being with family and we love her so much!

This is a card for Squigglefly's challenge #16 -  SFC1612 Mother's Day.  I've used Tea Roses by artist, Marla Shega from Squigglefly's store.  I though that image was perfect for a Mother's Day card.

Adorkable

Adorkable.  That's a new word the media has been using lately.   I would take it to mean a cute dork and that what I think this cute guy is.  Let me introduce you to NERD from Hambo.  I love him so much!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday!  April brings lots of birthdays for me.  Let's see, my newest nephew, Jeremy turned one on April 13; my internet friend, Pat, has a birthday on April 15 and my sister in law has a birthday on April 25.  I know I'm forgetting some of my scrapping buddies from the group and I apologize.  It feels kind of wierd, I haven't made anything since the last day of March.  Getting ready for the family for Easter get together, migraine this week; I just didn't have it in me.

Again, I hate, hate my camera.  No matter what setting, close up, far away, blinds open, blinds closed, lights on, lights off, you get the idea, my colors never come out right.  You can't even see the shadow around the letters and the yellow glittered cardstock.  Maybe I can sell a few more things on Ebay and buy a nice camera.  I can wish!

This card is for the Squigglefly challenge - SFC1412 Orange you Glad I didn't say Banana?  So, this week's Squigglefly challenge is called "Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?" You can participate in this week's challenge using ANY of THESE THREE options:
1) you can either use the color scheme orange and yellow on your card; or
2) you can use any PUNNY joke/saying on your card; or
3) use any fruit themed image or embellishment on your card

Guess which one I used?  Yep, number 1.

Here's my two alternative cards:  BTW, all the cards were made with scraps and left overs!
Here's what I used:
Chinese Characters: Happy Birthday image by Fawn Palmer - Squigglefly
Copics - YR68 VR09 Y19 C0
Yellow glitter cardstock, yellow and dark pink cardstock - DCWV
White Daisy cardstock - CTMH
Orange and black cardstock, embossing folders, ribbon - unknown
Say it with Bling - Want2Scrap
Orange Peel Stickles - Ranger
Pink Rhinestones Frosting - Glitz
Strawberry Ice Stickles - Ranger

Well, now I'm off to work on my nephew's card for his first birthday.  I'll post it later!
