Happy Bird-day! Hambo Hoedown 50

It's a bird, it's a plane... no it's "Super Bird." Meet CAPED CHICK from Hambo (http://hambostamps.com/). The challenge for this week (http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/2012/01/its-bird-its-plane.html) is to use a Hambo image and CASE (Copy and Share Everything) a project from their Image Gallery. For my card, I chose this to copy: http://www.hambostamps.com/digis/weegraduatemackenzie.jpg by MacKenzie Bruckler. Of course, I changed it just a little in the placement and size, but kept it clean and simple. That was very hard for me; although, I did use some shimmer paper!

Here's what I used:
Caped Chick image (Hambo)
White Daisy cardstock (CTMH)
Mango Frost papers (DCWV)
Spiced Marmalade Tim Holtz Distressing ink (Ranger)
Scalloped Circles Nestibilities (Spellbinders)
Double sided adhesive and pop dots (unknown from stash)
Copics - B12 B14 YR04 YR07 Y02 Y06 Y08

For some reason I always seem to finish challenges at the very last minute. Hopefully this week I can plan my time a little better and have some cushion.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My first easel card! SNSDC37

I definitely stepped outside of my comfort zone on this card. I'm by no means constuction-inclined, so I was nervous from the get-go to make this card. It's an easel card and supposed to "stand up" like an easel. BTW, its for a blog challenge http://sweetnsassydigis.blogspot.com/.

I read the instructions a couple of times and it didn't make any sense to me until I saw the video. Then light bulbs started going on!

Here's what I used:
Cross image (Sweet N Sassy Digis)
Scattered Straw Tim Holtz Distressing Ink (Ranger)
Curved Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
Purple textured cardstock and kraft cardstock (The Paper Studio)
Pearls (Want2Scrap)
Flowers and leaves (unknown)
Double sided adhesive (unknown)
Gold mist (homemade by me!)
Sansodor
Prisma Pencils - PC917, PC1009, PC947, PC950, PC931, PC1028, PC941

I certainly had fun learning how to do this. I believe I might try it again at some point.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

The best way to know life is to love many things...

I love this quote from Vincent Van Gogh and thought it was perfect for my little spotted creation. This is Bailey; a digi from Hambo (www.hambostamps.com). I colored Bailey up a couple of ways then thought that the cutie would be spotted. I think it turned out well.

This is for Hambo Hoedown 49 - "For our challenge this week, we would love for you to make a kids' card with BAILEY, and then SEND IT to Send A Smile 4 Kids. How could Bailey not cheer up a child?" You can check out the blog for Hambo: http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/.

Here is what I used:
Bailey image (Hambo)
Orange/light blue cardstock (Bazzill)
Big Starz 2 - Starz Collection by Kim Crothers (A2Z)
Rough N Tough I candy brads (Bo Bunny)
Glossy Accents (Ranger)
Double sided adhesive and quote (unknown)

Happy Birthday, Gorgeous!

Here's a new challenge blog I'm going to try and start submitting to - http://sweetnsassydigis.blogspot.com/. This challenge is SNSDC36 - Monochromatic colors. And yes, I had to pick brown as it is one of my favorite colors. Brown? Yep, because there are so many different browns and I love the way brown looks on me.

The image is from Sweet N Sassy and thought it would make a great birthday card. It's for no one in particular, I just needed to make some birthday cards.

Here's what I used:
Image (Sweet N Sassy)
Far East paper (DCWV)
Brown Cardstock (Bazzill)
Lace Doily border punch (Martha Stewart)
Pop dots and double sided adhesive (stash)
Chocolate Designer Rounds ribbon (CTMH)
Antique Linen Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Ranger)
Reverse Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
Brown Glitz (CTMH)

Dream

I saw this cute little vintage girl and just knew I wanted to color her!!! She is from Pamela at http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.com/. All of her vintage images are free to download and they are soooooo awesome! Vintage has become my new obsession.

This is for the ScrapbookPlace blog (http://yourscrapbookplace.blogspot.com/)challenge for January - tearing. The object of the blog is to get you out of your crafting block and do something a little different. When I started paper crafting, tearing was my ultimate fave! It got put aside along the way but it's baaaaack!

This image reminds me of a dress I had when I was younger. It was a Winnie the Pooh dress sorta made the same way. My mom would even put the knee high socks with the black patent leather shoes. Can I tell you I hated that dress and hate Winnie the Pooh to this day because of it!

Here's what I used:
Sophia paper (CTMH)
Leaf/Blush cardstock (CTMH)
Image (http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.com/)
Victorian Velvet/Spun Sugar Tim Holtz Distressing Ink (Ranger)
"DREAM" (K&Co)
Ribbon Roses, foam pop dots, double sided adhesive (stash)
Pink Pearls (Kaiser Scrapbook)
Curved Rectangles Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
Copics - E15 E11 W7 R20 R00 YG17 RV11 YG03 YG13 RV34

Alrighty, I'm off to work on some blog challenges. Stop by tomorrow for another creation!

Thanks for stopping by,

Know why balloons cost so much?

Here is my card for the Hambo Hoedown 48 (http://hambochallenges.blogspot.com/). This is what the challenge is - "Our challenge this week is brought to you by BALLOON COST. This is a chance to really put on your thinking caps and show us a creative way to use TWO OR MORE CIRCLES OF DIFFERENT SIZES somewhere on your projects! "

I used three different sizes (between 1" and 1.5" circles) to make my balloons.

Here are the materials I used: Swiss dots Embossing folder, Bazzill Bling cardstock, circle punches, image from Hambo, Rhinestones by Studio 18, Electric Blue Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, ribbon from stash.

Camera shows lots of glare from the pearlescent cardstock.

Can't wait to see what the next challenge is!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby shower card and present

My cousin Travis and his wife Casey are exepecting! They do know that their little bundle of joy will be a little girl (I'm sure more of a princess)! The family is giving her a baby shower this weekend and I made a frame to match Kenzie's room. Oh, they've already picked out a name!

Here's the frame.....

And here is the card. Me, my mom and my sister put all of our gifts together so the card is from all three of us.... BTW, I couldn't find a good image to use so I trimmed the front of the shower invite. Matches the paper perfectly!

Here's what I used for the picture frame: Wooden picture frame from Hobby Lobby, Sophia paper by CTMH, Matte Mod Podge by Plaid, Say it With Bling by Want2Scrap, Flower spray by Shannon Keith, Meadow Green and Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels, Pink rik rak by Paper Studio and Dollhouse Alpha chipboard by Brenda Walton for K&co.

Here's what I used for the Shower card: Jolly Twinkle Brads by CTMH, Leaf/Hollyhock/Blush cardstock by CTMH, Sophia paper by CTMH, Classic Scalloped Border Petites Borderabilities by Spellbinders.

I love making gifts to give to people - it's personalized. I hope Travis and Casey like it as much as I loved making it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Magical

I started 2012 with the resolution to get all of my pictures scrapped this year. Easy you might think... but no. You see I haven't scrapped in forever and have tons of pics to scrap - 800+ pics from our Disney trip in 2007 and not to mention almost 1000 pics from my wedding in 2002. Plus, all the pics of my new nephew Jeremy this past year. I'll be scrapping forever!!!!

This layout was done with pictures from last Christmas. They are pictures of my house decorated for Christmas. Sad thing is that this isn't everything. I plan on doing another layout with just pics of my Christmas tree, one with just the pics of my nativity sets and one of my LSU shelf (all LSU Christmas items). I love decorating for Christmas. Last year we had the annual "family Saturday before Christmas party" 2010 at my house so I did over do it just a bit.

I love the title of Magical because that's what I feel about Christmas. Although this year wasn't magical at my house. I've been feeling so bad, I didn't even put up a tree or decorate anything. Maybe I should have. Maybe it would have made me feel just a little better.

Here's what I used: Poinsettia swirl Foil Teresa Frost Design paper by Sandylion, Red cardstock by DCWV, Cream cardstock by Paper Studio, 18kt Gold leafing Pen by Krylon, Fired Brick Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger, Golden Rod Stickles by Ranger, E1007 Homestead Alphabet by CTMH, Say it With Crystals by Prima, Poinsettias by Jolees, Poinsettias by Oriental Trading, Brad by CTMH, Crystals E Line by Prima, Permanent adhesive by Tombow and Dimensional glue dots (unknown).

Now to clean off my scrap space and start my next project. I'll pull my materials and start that while I watch my Saints!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
